Cervélo P5 Ultegra Di2
In short
P5 is a contre la montre catalyst. It is made for one thing - to help you get from point A to point B as quickly as possible.
Description
Simplicity and adjustability
The new one-piece front end (first applied to the S5) is easier to mount and adjust, and the stack is now adjustable up to 40 mm, while the basebar height drops by 10 mm to minimise the frontal area. The new riser increases tilt adjustability, from 0 to 30 degrees, in 5-degree increments.
Speed
Aerodynamically, the new P5 frame is about a watt faster than the previous model and has room for 34mm tyres. That space means plenty of room for Reserve's new 77/88 wheelset and Vittoria's 29mm tyre. That saves about 4 watts over the previous Reserve/Vittoria pair for a total system saving of about 5 watts.
Comfort and Control
The new armrests and pads on the P5 are wider, higher and thicker than before. It's definitely more comfortable, but it also gives more confidence. More surface area leads to better control, which means you can spend more time in the most aerodynamic position.
