The Chronos Aero Long Distance cycling shoes will give you wings
Lots of comfort, optimum transmission and, above all, low drag: the Chronos Aero is a shoe that will literally take you further and support your effort in the best possible way.
10 watts less drag through good aerodynamics
Aerodynamics are very important, especially if you can't stay and you have to complete that long ride by yourself. With the Aero, we opt for a quick single dial-lock to close the shoe. The closure is covered with a zipped 'lace cover'. The upper should be as smooth as possible for minimal air resistance. Therefore, no closure on the side either so that no turbulence is created. Due to the smooth finish, an advantage of up to 10 watts can be achieved, according to tests Cádomotus did in the wind tunnel.
Comfort when donning and rainy conditions
The shoe has a soft finish, which provides extra comfort during entry and exit. The transition from the hard carbon of the shell to the softer upper is gradual, with no hard edges. This is possible because the shoe's construction is 'one piece': the shoe is made as one piece. This is a laborious and expensive production method, but results in a significantly stronger and comfortable shoe. You get even more comfort thanks to the holes in the carbon cockpit sole, which drains water in rainy conditions. The upper is made of microfibre leather, which is light, very strong, durable and antibacterial.
Efficient pedal stroke without tightening
Once in the shoe, you can immediately transfer your power to your pedals, even if time pressures don't allow you to zip the shoe up quite right. Often, shoes are not tightened properly, resulting in great loss of power. The carbon cockpit sole of the Cádomotus Aero is well heat-shaped and therefore instantly locks your foot in tight, ensuring an efficient pedal stroke. Right from the start, the shoe is so tight that every pedal stroke is simply a hit, which is a huge advantage, especially uphill or when accelerating after a turn.
Stiff shoe shell helps save for running
Ultimately, the shoe's main advantage is its solid shell sole. Because you cycle more efficiently as said, you are already saving energy for running. This is further boosted by the fact that that rigid shoe also clearly stabilises and relieves your calf. You will therefore cycle much more from your hip and upper legs, saving that calf for walking. You postpone fatigue, which can then pay off handsomely with running. In short, it is a shoe that lets you cycle and run better.
